Gemeinschaftsmarken – erste Verlängerungen stehen an

Introduction
November 1st 2005 marks an important milestone in the ten years since OHIM opened its doors in Alicante. Proprietors of registered Community trade marks filed back in 1996 now have the opportunity to apply to OHIM for the renewal of these rights for a further ten-year period.

Time Frame
Applications to renew a registered CTM can be made before OHIM at any time during a six-month period which expires on the last day of the month in which the CTM itself expires.
If the renewal application is not submitted within this initial six-month period, a further six-month period is available, with a 25% surcharge added to the corresponding renewal fee, up to a maximum of €1.500 per application.
